“A moment goes by quickly, but a photo lasts forever”
Lifestyle family photography on location is a great way to capture a mix of posed and candid moments with you and your children.
A 30-minute session is perfect for classic portraits, but if you are looking for some fun play at the beach then the one-hour lifestyle shoot is ideal.
All my family photo shoots are either outside at a park or beach or at the client’s home.
I believe it’s important to have printed photos in albums and on the wall so please get in touch if you need help ordering products.

WHAT TO WEAR
Planning your families outfits is important because these photos should be timeless and also look great hanging on the walls in your home.
I recommend colour coordinating outfits but not matching. Thinking about if you prefer neutral tones or bright colours. If there are bright colours make sure they don’t clash. Avoid busy patterns, tee-shirts with logos and slogans and kids clothing with cartoon characters on them. Make sure clothes are clean and ironed and also dress for the weather – no one likes to be too cold or too hot.
Of course, if you are trying to get out the door and your child is only happy if they get to wear their ballet tutu (for example) then so be it – A happy child in something they want to wear is better than a child in tears in the “perfect outfit”.
Bring a change of clothes for the kids especially for after a beach photoshoot.
Snacks before and after a shoot are also good for the kids… and adults!!
PREPARING FOR YOUR SHOOT
Parents – think about your outfits first and if you want to get your hair and make-up done. If you don’t feel great you may not like the photos as much. Kids will look cute in just about anything…
WHAT TO BRING
The family, change of clothes for little kids, distraction/favourite toy. Let me know if you are bringing your dog!
WHAT NOT TO BRING
Extra people who are not part of the booking that may “help” direct the shoot.
You need to book your shoot for a time that suits your family, not only when the adults are available but also when small children are at their best, such as the morning after a sleep and food. I am happy to postpone the photoshoot if kids are sick or the weather is not suitable. As my photoshoots are generally outside and booked at times that are ideal for lighting conditions the photoshoot may not be extended in time if you arrive late to the shoot. Also, I should not be held liable if the weather takes a turn for the worse during the shoot. We might be able to make up some of the time at another date if suitable.
